King County Nearshore Habitat Mapping Data Report: Picnic Point to Shilshole Marina. 2001

Prepared for King County Dept. of Nat. Resources, Seattle, WA by PNNL

To assist siting of the Brightwater marine outfall, this objective of this study was to develop accurate maps of nearshore habitat within portions of King and Snohomish Counties. A total of 22 contiguous kilometers (km) of nearshore habitat were mapped during the fall of 1999 using a combination of side scan sonar and underwater video from about +1m to -30m mean lower low water. A total of 144 km of video data and 1033 hectares of sonar data were collected. Vegetation, substrate, and fish species were categorized and mapped.
