1997 Marine Monitoring Report

crab King County conducts an extensive water quality monitoring program on Puget Sound. This routine monitoring is done to verify that the treated effluent from King County's three wastewater treatment facilities does not degrade the water quality in the vicinity of the effluent outfalls. Additionally, ambient monitoring which focuses on areas outside the immediate vicinity of known discharges assess background conditions in central Puget Sound.
