Fish Tissue Sampling and Chemical Analysis in the Lower Duwamish Waterway

Data Report:

About this Document

Image of report coverThis report presents a general summary of the field and laboratory efforts as well as the analytical results for English Sole and Shiner Surfperch fish that were collected in 2006 from the downstream portion of the Lower Duwamish Waterway in the vicinity of the Diagonal Duwamish remediation site. Fish tissue was analyzed for PCBs (as Aroclors), phthalates, lipids and percent moisture. The complete laboratory data quality assurance package can be obtained by contacting Debra Williston (debra.williston@kingcounty.gov).

The methods and analyses used in this study were consistent with previous work conducted by Windward Environmental L.L.C., on behalf of the Lower Duwamish Waterway Group (LDWG) and approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Washington Department of Ecology. These data can be compared to data collected in the same area (river mile -0.2 to 1.0) in past collection and analysis efforts.

The results of fish tissue data collection efforts by LDWG for 2004 and 2005 can be found at the Lower Duwamish Waterway Group Web site.
