To view the current bacteria, algal toxin, and temperature data, either click on the map or select from the list of beaches. Units of bacteria data are cfu/100mL. Algal toxin units are µg/L. Green Lake Warning - Avoid Algae Scum Accumulations

While toxic algae has been found in accumulated scums along the shores of Green Lake, the lake is not closed and remains open to most activities. Look for signs posted along the shoreline. For more information visit; Seattle Parks and Recreation Page.

Thornton Creek Bacteria Study

Public warned to stay out of Thornton Creek due to high bacteria levels; based on an intensive study done by the City of Seattle.

We recommend avoiding contact with water from the following creeks: John's Creek, Juanita Creek, Ravenna Creek, Idylwood Creek, and Thornton Creek.
